  • A dedicated Parking Yard for Transport Operations was created with more than 200 cabs to be parked at any given point of time
  • Each vendor was assigned with a dedicated parking slot
  • Created an infrastructure with computers /phone connections for the Transport Bay Management personnel to operate from
  • Rest rooms were created
  • Bathing facilities provided
  • Breakfast/Lunch provided at subsidized rates
  • Drinking water facility was organized
  • Tea/Coffee vending machine deployed
  • Bunkers were created for the drivers to sleep
  • Carrom, Chess facility provided to engage them during their free time
  • Car washing facility was provided
  • Shelter for Employees created to address issues during rain / summer
  • PA System was installed for making important announcements

Results

  • Employee Satisfaction increased drastically
  • On-time arrival and departures of vehicles streamlined
  • During the day, BMTC buses were parked for some time.
  • Drivers and conductors were using the facilities provided
  • Transport team was able to capture log-in and log-out procedures on time
  • Drivers were motivated and were usefully engaged during break times
  • Transport team were able to manage hassle free operations
  • Sufficient lighting instilled a sense of safety amongst the Employees, especially women employees
  • Hygiene levels shot up for Vehicles and Drivers as well
  • Breakfast and lunch at subsidized rates was a big motivator to the drivers, escort guards
  • Coordination between the Employees and Drivers was better and saved time and efforts
